I didn't know the President sent the Army 101st airborne to escort those kids to class, booted the national guard out of the way basically. The school itself is still an operating school, by the way - - the visitors center & a restored gas station (where the press set up camp during the commotion) are across the street from the school.

We left Robertsdale if for no other reason than to escape the constant gunfire from the shooting range nearby. Driving into Mobile reminded us of driving into San Francisco from the Bay Bridge, because it is approached by a bridge. Once we got into Mobile, we went into a tunnel to go under a shipping channel.
