... I could have sworn I was in Southern Utah. These Vazquez Rock are sandstone cliffs, uplifted by the adjacent San Andreas Fault. Furthermore, with the ever present Junipers, Mormon Tea, and Sage Bush, it was easy to feel to have been teleported. The only thing missing was the Piñon Pine and the cryptobiotic crust. After resupplying and breakfasting at Agua Dulce (elevation 2300 feet), the trail elevated me to 4700 feet. It was at this summit that I chatted for about ...

Headed to Little Italy searching for restrooms. Story of my life couldn't find a public toilet anywhere. Decide to find the best looking joint for coffee......so I can use their restroom. Thankfully find a coffee shop with an actual coffee machine & a proper barista. Two amazing caramel lattes later we are in heaven. Went for a stroll through the gas lamp area of town which I can imagine would be buzzing on the ...

The boys went on one more time and Kristen headed to the bathroom. I pretty much collapsed on the rocks nearby. Ugh. However, our day was up and we made our way back to the car. Problem was, we couldn't remember exactly where it was...we split up and Kevin found it and ...

Day Three I have to go to Camarillo for a "hair" appointment and a follow-up dental appointment. After breakfast Lupe an I headed to Camarillo. Manuel and Chencho stayed as Manuel needed to run some errands in Valencia. Lupe and I spent most of the day in Camarillo. I first saw the oral surgeon, all is well, stitches were removed and I am done with this process. The office building has a very nice courtyard with a fountain. Lupe and I took pictures in the ...

... way. Katie, on the other hand, liked UCSB better because it feels more open. It is a sprawling, flat campus best traversed by bicycle. Katie liked the way the builds were spaced apart and felt it was easier to not get lost. We found it really interesting that Katie and Charlie liked the different schools for the opposite reasons. The both liked the suburban, "apart" feeling of the campuses.
