... with a quilted blanket/mattress which you spread over the seat when you wanted to sleep. The food overall was fine dining quality. We slept for several hours and enjoyed the trip.

Our first afternoon here was doing a bit of walking around. Our hotel is the Loews which is centrally situated in Hollywood with it being only 100 m from the Chinese theatre, the Hollywood walk of fame and Madame Tussauds. While looking at the famous Boardwalk entries we laughed ...

The Coffee Bean and Tea Loaf, Arizona/3rd, 5.30pm

Something that has struck me this afternoon is how early it went dark. Yeah, in England at the moment it's going dark at 4.30pm, and on some grey days, it seems like it starts going dark at 3pm. What surprised me today was how quickly I went from roasting in the car at 3pm as I rushed to change into my shorts, to parking up at 4pm in Santa Monica, sticking my fleece on and getting ...

We made our way to the otters. I ...

... today, and we kept getting in traffic jams on the ride. Gotta say it’s the first time we’ve experienced traffic on a ride. What is the deal with this town and traffic? We passed one part of the ride three times, and Mark leaned over to Cheryl and said, “Big Ben. Parliament.” You might remember that line from “National Lampoon’s European Vacation”, where Chevy Chase gets caught in the roundabout in London ...

... went back upstairs and had a nap while I went for a walk. A couple of blocks down Santa Monica Boulevard noticing many cafes etc then up to Sunset Boulevard. I walked a few blocks east on Sunset taking photos of nightclubs and shops and then back down to Santa Monica and home. By now it was after 8pm and starting to get dark.
We went back down to K24 intending to sit out and watch the passing parade again but it ...
