    We were awoken this morning to the sound of a commercial washing machine, creaking on the floor above us and the sound of an African-American voice telling her kids to stop running 'or yall slap ya face on that there pavement'. No joke! Nomes groaned, rolled over, and proceeded to sleep until 11! I let her sleep, knowing it'd be the last chance she'd have in the next couple of days.

    I had booked to go to Disneyland but bus was cancelled as they didn't have enough passengers. Great! not. Ok so I will go to Griffith Observatory. Nup. Can't do that either unless I have a car. No buses go there during the week, only on the weekends. Sheesh.

    ... fancy. We don’t often go shopping and this was a rare occasion when it wasn’t a chore. We bought a few items we needed and a few we didn’t. I got jandals, running shorts and top from Adidas store which were a bargain, a skirt, shorts and 2 singlets. While Joel bought sandals finally that will be comfortable (unlike the cheap one in Thailand and the custom made ones in Vietnam), and they were Adidas and a bargain. He also got pants ...
