After the respective camping and running are over, we'll meet in Los Angeles to celebrate my 30th birthday before catching our flight from LAX to Bangkok.

Currently we're both recuperating from all of the dang shots we had to get for the trip, doing last minute research, attempting to fit all our stuff in small packs and wondering if JD's passport has enough room for visas and entry stamps. More to come...

July 17, 18, and 19 The Meet and Greet

Lincoln’s birthplace is in a really pretty setting. There is a large memorial building on the top of a hill –looks like a huge tomb. When you get in it, there is a small log cabin. ... and all of the sudden, Beth yells out "KANAWANA" and point frantically in front of us! Well, I thought she saw a rare WV deer and slammed on the breaks. We reluctantly left this great hospitality at nine this morning (the other cyclists had left at 5:30 to do the same distance). We proceeded to spend the next 4 hours in a rigorous match of Four Square (the local game that Pastor Bob introduced us to). ... received a birthday dinner of filet minon and extras. We tooled around there for the evening, and in the morning, we headed east. 15.5 hours later it was "Indiana, our Indiana." there is little to report... Kansas is still flat. Mallory read ALL of the new Harry Potter book from the time we left CO to the time we managed to get outside Kansas City. AT least she did not miss much!
