Visibility was improving the further east we flew, the Kaskaskia River, with its many oxbow lakes (we love oxbow lakes!), Rend Lake before crossing the Wabash River as it ran into the Ohio River, the border between Ohio and Indiana. We cannot fail to mention the town of Objectionable, out on our left as we approached our destination.
Thomas Wolfe in the novel, You Can't Go Home Again said,
"This is man, who, if he can remember ten golden moments of joy and happiness out of all his years, ten moments unmarked by care, unseamed by aches or itches, has power to lift himself with his expiring breath and say: "I have lived upon this earth and known glory!"
