We began our trip to Oshkosh on Thursday morning. Lunch in Tifton, GA at Hog and Bone Barbeque. Good sandwich - there is also one of these in Waycross. Arrived at the campground around 2 PM after changing to central time zone. Our site is about 20 feet from the edge of the lake. We can watch the boaters from our bedroom window! We'll try to leave early tomorrow since it is another almost 300 mile day. ...

This is our first morning on this site and as the sun is cresting the trees on the far side of the creek, we are sitting in our car (heater on - it is 33 degrees), and the American Coots are collecting. There is a mist rising across the water.

... sorted we attempted to buy Alabama fishing licences online, but as our passports do not match our country of residence we were stopped in our tracks. A quick phone call to a local fishing shop confirmed we could buy the licences in Walmart. Woo hoo! I needed a new dress anyway and the clothes are so cheap there. We waited for ages at the sports & leisure counter before one of the other customers hollered "we need a little service here". Eventually the ...

Slow day today. Basically a travel day on our way to Jays.

We crossed two very large bays, Mobile and Pensacola. And while crossing the long bridges, we must have run into (literally) the Monarch butterfly migration. Every few seconds we "made contact" with Monarch butterflies - large, small. Sad.

We also drove along the back roads of Alabama, cotton fields, cotton fields, cotton fields. If we had dropped in from ...
