Sam and Rob had planned a lovely day of beach, sights, lunch ...

It's the best Zoo I have ever been too and we got to see a lot of fabulous animals really close up. I nearly cried when I finally got to see the Polar Bears (on our first visit they were asleep in their room) and when they started play fighting it was a truly magical experience. The male polar bear was 10ft tall! ...

... one. The other thing was with the base being so close every ten minutes or so you could hear and see the fighter jets overhead. The island is famous for being the place where Edward VIII met Mrs Simpson and enjoyed many an afternoon, doing what Ella called ‘canoodling’ however some would like to believe they just enjoyed a refreshing G&T overlooking the ocean…NOT!!! The drive from Coronado drought us right up to the Mexican border but we didn’t cross ...
