... then the Smithsonian Castle, The Air & Space Museum The Natural History Museum, and the Sackler Gallery. We were overwhelmed after the Air & Space Museum....we feel like country bumpkins in the big city. We wish we had more time to spend here, and were happy we made it because it has been absolutely awesome here and we loved it! Hard to believe all these museums are free! ... They looked tame enough though had an impressive array of harnesses and padded bars... we soon found out why. David was the pilot and I took the role of gunner in a war- time exercise. The simulator could go in a complete 360 degree turn and half the time we were upside down and thankful for our seat belts!
The natural history museum was interesting, but a bit depressing. I forgot that for the wider public 'natural history' means ' evolution' ...
