... out to a 24 hour pharmacy (so handy!) to get something to help ease his raspy breathing. He was able to eventually get back to sleep but was still rather unwell in the morning. Thankfully Nana was happy to stay home with him so he could rest.

Dad and the rest of us headed to build-a-bear, a long awaited piece of our trip. This was really our only day to go otherwise we wouldn't have gone without Matty or Jocelyn. For those that don't know ...

... costumes and took stock of their candy collection.  We had some old friends stop in which was wonderful. Funnily enough both set were people for whom I had babysat for for years. ... called. She was taken by ambulance to the local hospital, a few minutes away. After being checked over and having a chest x-ray she was given the all clear. She perked up considerably over the couple of hours we were there which was a huge relief! All in all a rather scary experience but we were helped by some lovely people and she seems none the worse for wear. Hopefully that will be our only need for medical assistance on this ...

After a sleepless 11 hour flight I arrived in San Francisco 3 hours after I had set off. My first bit of advice for anyone crossing the border into America is border control take themselves very, very seriously. They do not smile, they do not wish you a good trip. After an intense interrogation about who Ben was, what he did, how I knew him etc. he seemed satisfied that I was meeting a real person, and I was sent on my way.
