We made it to Chattanooga, where we stayed at Homewood Suites! Everyone had their own bed and we were so happy that the first half of the trip was over! The only hiccup we had was there were NO restaurants open on Christmas Day...we were all starving for dinner that we ended up ordering from the only open place: a Waffle House. The food wasn't great, but it helped. I gave Brenna a bath in ...

But inside the caves going to the falls was absolutely beautiful and awesome. Its unreal to think that a guy in the sixties decided to crawl what ended up to be ...

Nice day of riding down US 72 across north Mississippi and Alabama and on into Chattanooga arriving at Davied's about 5:30 local time (Eastern time zone). Stopped for gas twice on way over and had lunch in Decatur, AL. Weather was pretty nice with some clouds and temps in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Not perfect but much better than the upper 90s ...

Our program began with an excellent historical overview of the city and region. Starting with trading settlements along the Tennessee River (Ross's Landing), the first railroad arrived in 1850. Chattanooga was strategically important as a supply depot during the Civil War - first for the Confederate army, then for the Union army beginning in 1863. After the war northerners were encouraged to settle here which promoted ...
