We started out the day visiting the campus of The University of Notre Dame. There was a lot of snow all around, and only Susan knew what it's like to walk in the snow to school. With me growing up in Louisiana, snow days were very few. The campus was large as we stopped at the football stadium. I must confess, the campus bookstore was impressive ...

... back...not to mention it'll be good to have a week to speak some Spanish. Along with seeing friends and going back to the church I worked in, I plan to spend a morning at the orphanage to see all the babies I fell in love with over the summer! (I still wish so badly that I could bring them home, but since I can't, I'll just visit...)

I'm excited. I can't wait to see familiar faces. God is good! It is purely His doing that I can go back!

I never thought I could get any sleep on the bus. But my father (thank you!) had bought me some inflatable neck pillow, and combined with my ear plugs I slept pretty well. The bus made a 15 minutes stop during the night, which was nice: I could stretch my legs a bit. But since the bus was only half full I had two seats. I just took off ...

... poor driving skills in the tri-state area. Getting to route 80 was simple enough since we left after morning rush hour and since then its been a straight shot.

Although I will have to say that the whole state of PA smells like one big farm and there's quite a bit of road kill. Other than that Day 1 was uneventful. A few stops for gas and a pull off at McDonalds to take advantage of a clean bathroom and the day ...

... and Roll Hall of Fame. The first day I spent in Bedford, and then settled myself in my hotel in Independence, just south of Cleveland.

Dinner was at Tom Evans, a place I had seen the commercials for, but with none in Canada, had never been too...YUM - Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy and biscuits!

We returned to Betsy's parents house from our time in Mexico. After throwing a few more things away - we took off in our car on a road trip to Cindy Snow's wedding in Arkansas. We visited our friends Bill and Chuck in Cincinnati, then we followed the Ohio river to the Mississipi. We stopped at some small towns along the way like Metropolis (the home of superman).

We left Florida and drove to Berea via Winston Salem so we could visit Jed and Cecilie (Peter's nephew). When we arrived in Berea we spent the month of March getting Betsy's parents house ready to put on the market. The house market in Cleveland is horrible so we thought we better try to sell the house as soon as possible so they would be ready to move into their new retirement apartment in Chagrin Falls when is was completed in the fall.

The program order was adjusted from the Toronto and Chautauqua concert so that half an hour of the second half could be taped for the broadcast along with announcer Lloyd Newell’s Spoken Word message. Meals are all prepared in the main kitchen byt recreational cooking is done by the residents. Residents involvement with Laundry is encourgaed but regulations do not allow this in the nursing house. ... are allowed to reproduce, for the sake of Nick's train ride if nothing else. Other than the train ride, the park was suprisingly nice considering it was less than five miles south of the city.
