... in Abilene and decided to take a motel for the night - the strong winds and 30 plus heat were deciding factors!! Tomorrow we visit the Eisenhower Library and Museum.Dwight D. grew up here. Abilene is also home to a Greyhound (the dogs) museum, a telephony museum and a carousel museum. Carousels were made here. It is also home to the Russell Stover Chocolate Factory. Not sure what else we will see after the Museum and Library.
We stayed in Salina, Kansas and enjoyed our time visiting. Along with being very hot it has also been quite dusty! Nobody has a clean car in Kansas that we saw! We discovered that Kansas is not a huge state but it has a big number of counties – 105! In watching the weather forecast on local TV we were amazed that the counties looked like lots of little squares throughout the state.
