Also, did you know that there really is a 'Dorothy's House,' complete with a yellow brick road and all of the characters??? There is! It's in Liberal, Kansas, in the south western corner, just above Oklahoma. (Junctions 83 and 54 if you are interested) We didn't take that route, but you can!

Hebron, Nebraska, is about 10 miles north of the Kansas border off US 81. Its claim to fame is that it has the world's largest porch swing which is located in one of the town parks. How cool is that!? You could hold a family reunion here and everyone could swing.

  • no clue whatsoever about what the left lane is for, content to amble along at 20 mph under the posted limit
  • no clue about moving over to the left lane to allow merging traffic to, well, merge. I have witnessed so many incidences ...
