I booked my flights to New Zealand today! WOW Due to the late timing though, I had to book my flights out of Washington DC. The challenge is getting there and back. Left the quiet campground and headed northeast. I-99 was about 100 feet higher than the southbound and the valley and towns were even lower. This trip was really nice with the green rolling hills and small towns and lots of farms but it seemed like we were always going downhill. We sure have seen lot of dead dears on the side of the road in PA.

Stopped in Altoona for diesel and there along the mountaintop ridges were turbines. We have not seen many ...

... somehow. But beneath the surface things are not all perfect. Turns out Tyrone has been steadily losing population since the 1920s. I notice at Burger King that out of 7 employees, 6 of them (men and women) look like they're in their 30s or 40s. I'm guessing that that tells something about the shortage of decent job opportunities in this area. Still, I'd say Tyrone has managed to keep its dignity through nearly a century of decline.
