... and truck drivers used the road so maybe everyone just ignores those signs? Who knows. There are a lot of difffences in the driving from NZ to USA. One most notceable one is that there doesnt seem to be a requitement for motorcyclists to wear helmets. Some do, but unless it is a state by state law it seems to be choice. It is strange but quiet cool to see groups of bikies along the roads, long hair flowing in the wind. It must be warm ...

Leaving Walmart, Joplin this morning we travelled along Route 66 through Missouri and in to Kansas. There is only 13 miles of R66 in Kansas, so it doesn't take us long to drive through this corner of the state. Special shout out to Anthony--Happy 23rd ...

... hammering, fitting, sawing. I did a lot of sawing. We put up plywood for the walls and I sawed out the windows and doors. It's been so interesting watching and participating in how these homes are built. When I have my own home, way in the future, should I decided to build it, I think I'd like to be involved in it's development. Certainly when I get back to Atlanta I'll become involved with my local Habitat affiliate. Showers at the Y. Nap on the bus ride home (see pic). Watch ...

-7:15 wake up. -I actually woke up at 5:45 ready to go and rolled around and fidgeted until alarms started going off. -Get ready. -A nice breakfast of biscuits and gravy. AND Greek yogurt and fruit! I haven't had Greek yogurt until I left home, and it's been sorely missed in my life. -Stop to see local landmarks (see picture). -Building ...
