We wanted to go back to Zion for the morning. There was a creek running alongside the road. We found a parking spot and started up the trail. We were trying to get to the end of the trail (on ground). After that, you had to walk through the creek. We had seen pictures of people going in this area on horseback and it sounded like something we wanted …
... dark. Oh, but first we had to have one last trip to Weinersnitzel before we leave CA. We each picked somewhere to go......guess who picked which place. :)
Anyway Rainbow Basin was pretty cool with all the different colors and textures. Haven't seen green in rocks before.

... in LA. 30 minutes later I found myself at the foot of Angeles National Forest Mountain. The ride over the 8000ft mountain was one of the most beautiful sites I have seen. I seemed like I went uphill for 30 miles until I hit the highest point of 7990 ft. The temp was about 35 degrees colder than in LA so I had to pull over and put on my jacket. Next I rode down the backside of the mountain making my way to barstow, ca were I got gas and a quick bite to eat at a gas station.

The a/c couldn't keep the room cooled until after midnight. I know it was hot but it's always hot in Barstow and if they can't put in new a/c units that actually work, they shouldn't rent out rooms in the summer!!!
