    ... where we picked out a canoe! A red headed guy who was seriously proud of being an Air Force vet (a young vet, and a linguist) drove us down the river and let us off. It was a beautiful sail. Not hard to row (at least where I was, in the back. Sonia may have had a harder time in the front) and not too hot. We saw ducks, birds, a heron and TURTLES!!!! GOD DANGED TURTLES. They were so cute.     ... a strongly worded voice message over WhatsApp in Irish telling John where to stick his Harvard Irish.... We watched The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, which Sonia and I had rented because John is just back from a few months in India, and it was light hearted enough to get away from the Irish debate.     ... route, and we had to get off the train at some stop near the Indiana Dunes and get on a pile of buses to different destinations. It was actually nice to see the road for a while, which is wooded and pretty, not rusty and industrial like the railway. After passing my written (50 multiple choice questions), I drove around with a lady for about 15 minutes.
