Winston-Salem was originally settled by religious "refugees" called Moravians in the mid-1700’s, so there is a lot of interesting colonial history and architecture here. It is also home to the Reynolds Tobacco empire (it only just dawned on me where the cigarette brand names "Winston" and "Salem" came from!). SOME of my friends (you know who you are!) will also be impressed ...

11:00 Start walking! Head down 5th Avenue toward Bryant Park (there are some stores down there I want to go to but I have to figure out where they are)
