        It felt strange as we drove south from Cheyenne into Colorado. As we approached the suburbs of Denver the traffic picked up, then more and more houses, stores and restaurants until they seemed to form a wall along both sides of the road. The interstate widened to three lanes, then four, and the cars and trucks seemed to pack themselves together as we drove slower and slower.         ... The kids both got t-shirts and postcards. We went out to explore the museum and the town sheriff was looking for Deputies. Duncan and Maggie volunteered. They had to demonstrate some skills needed to be a Deputy like sauntering, running, and hopping on one leg (in case you were shot in the leg). They received stars pins. It was fun. We all got a Sasparilla soda ...

        ... so curious and bright. They made me miss the grandkids. She said that we could do laundry there, and stay there until her dad got off work. We told her that this was our first day of decent weather, we needed to make up time.
