Blew by Cadillac ranch

A travel blog entry by chris-fernie

I am staying at the Econolodge in Santa Fe, New Mexico tonight with another Motor Maid, Joyce Turner from California. Another great day of riding but it was so windy From Amarillo, Texas that we blew right by the Cadillac Ranch. We stopped for gas 1 mile down the road, but did not go back for pictures as it was just too windy. We stopped for lunch …

A travel blog entry by debrajdunford

This was a stop of ours for one night on the way to Wyoming. We took a drive around the area.
Ate at a Diner's, Driving and Dives location. Backyard Pizza. Nothing special.
The place we stayed.
I liked the amenities of this location for the price. They offered a nice continental breakfast like pour prepared batter from machine into mold …

On The Road Day 21

A travel blog entry by bhalik1129

Not too many miles on the car today, only 28. But I put quite a few on my feet.

I got off to a fairly early start this morning and drove down to Santa Fe, N.M. I had to make a side trip to have my car serviced. I have put a lot of miles on it. Then I drove to the motel I had reservations for tonight. It was too early to check in but they …

After finishing at Los Alamos we drove to the Bandelier National Monument (having to pass through a very official military booth, John had to show photo ID and state that we were tourists and driving straight through, and we were not to take photos!). So there is still some secret military work going on in the labs there!!! Anyway, ...

After discovering there really wasn't a lot to do it Santa Fe we found a shopping centre and did some Christmas shopping.

The following day we caught the shuttle to the station and were on our way to ...

I liked the amenities of this location for the price. They offered a nice continental breakfast like pour prepared batter from machine into mold and waffles 2 minutes later. They have a pool and hot tub. My problems were the ice machine was a long trip from the room and the backdoor of hotel slammed loudly til midnight. We were closest to it. Room was clean.
