Today was absolutely beautiful in Springfield; sunny and high 70s. The show only ran to 2:00 so we were able to get on the road pretty quickly. Got home just after 5:00.
Walked around the city a bit more this morning and checked out the State Capital building-very cool.

Not a pleasing shot of the river. If you look closely you can see a tractor tyre that someone dumped into the river that has washed up along the opposite bank (to the extreme left of the pic).

OK we are finally figured out what happened. Let's just say long story short noone knows where to go to get on the plane since they changed the gate and nobody bothered to make sure everyone is aware of the situation, and it was not easy to find anyone from United. The hostel we stayed in was a bit different to say the least - the reviews we had read on the place ...
Chicago, United States carolandjoe... allowed to eat beside her... We had a bulkhead seat, which gave us lots of leg room. But it also meant that your seats did not go back so it was a wee bit uncomfortable. Chicago airport is a bit run down. More so than I remember. Couldn't even get a decent cup of coffee...
Chicago, Illinois, United States thesteers... You have to be around her to really understand. I took a video on my camera of her trying to learn common Japanese phrases from the sushi menu, but it definitely doesn't do her justice--it was much funnier in real life. I had made plans to go out with Ben, so around 10pm he stopped by and we headed out to a bar in St. Charles. Because it was a Tuesday night everything was pretty empty, but we found ourselves a table outside and just hung out ...
