First we got flagged doon by a Police car because we'd been cycling on an Interstate for a short distance to get out of Amarillo, AND THAT'S ILLEGAL. ... Pass near Blanca Peak, just north of the highway reaching up to 14,345 ft. The pass was 10,800 ft. and we could touch the snow on either side of the highway. It was just as far down going East as it was coming down and very curvy. We didn't get out of the snow banks until about 8000 ft. Somewhere in this area we passed Wolf Creek Ski Lodge. Last night, I was able to rest up better than the night before so I'm ready to rock with getting work done.
I woke up in Colorado this morning! It's pretty much what I expected of grassy plains and farmland but am wondering if I'll get to see part of the Rockies on today's journey? That would be cool.
Today I feel like I'm being anti-social. Decided to walk into the dining car to see what's on the menu ...

Then we got back to our room and through in a load of laundry since it is free at this Holiday Inn.....man free breakfast, laundry and free room, it doesn't get to much better than this.
Tomorrow we are onto Syracuse, KS, another state behind me and 5 more states ahead of me....We are doing a video tonight of my first 50 days review....
... are 213 camping spaces. The majority have electricity available and some also have water. There are clean showers and a large laundry room. It is a huge park and I imagine when the trees are full, it is quite a sanctuary from the heat.
Bird watchers love to visit Lake Hasty and two vans full of these seekers arrived across the street from our camping spot. They had huge spotting scopes and I'm sure they enjoyed their time around ...
