... to Mission as there is a guy there that has numerous wives and the law is trying to catch him. It was going on when we were in Kamloops before and it still isn’t resolved. I don’t know what we expected to see- a man holding up a sign saying he had numerous wives. It turned out Mission was the same as any other town.

... Mountains featuring. People were going crazy taking photos, but I just sat back and reflected. These scenes are beautiful, but having had a week driving around the Rocky Mountain National Park, they were not a patch on the remote and unspoilt scenes that I had enjoyed, photographed and been mesmerised by. ... May 1 travel by train to Pamplona, take a bus to Roncesvalles just south of the French border, take a bus, taxi or hitchhike to St. Jean Pied-de-Port across the border in southern France. From here we hope to start our walk on Thursday, May 2, back to Pamplona on foot and onwards....

Once back in the main town (I say town but mean a tiny little truck stop place) we had a look around the chainsaw carvings that seemed to be everywhere. They are impressive that they can get them so detailed considering it is all done with a chainsaw. Apparently the have alot of competitions where they only have a weekend to create something out of a massive log. Wish there had been one going on as I think that would have been fun to see but as it was we had to settle ...

Cultus Lake is an oasis of water surrounded by forrested mountains, like sparkling water in a giant green bowel. An amazing provincial park in Chilliwack BC. We had fabulous sunshiney summer weather (a nice break from up North where crisp fall weather has arrived).
