263 km, a short day but a very windy one. After we left the Rockies, it immediately started getting very flat - and very very windy.

... for a taxi from Abbotsford (next station 30 minutes later). The train arrived at Abbotsford station. No taxis! One was called. In the meantime the train sat at the station until the taxi arrived for the passenger to transfer (bear in mind that this is another ****-end of nowhere station with no buildings, it's 7am and raining, so holding the train is the only possible shelter for the passenger until that taxi!). Turns out the taxi was coming ...
We got up early this morning around 7am as we needed to pack up and head over the Maple Ridge. Quite excited as spending the next few days with some of Mark's (my sisters husbands) family. I have met Sarah before when she was over traveling in England.
We had pancakes and maple syrup again for breakfast which we ate whilst trying not to get eaten alive my horrible little mosquito's and horseflies. It is raining again too :( knew ...
... like 'dipping' in because it was very fresh). And to top off our relaxation weekend, I must mention that nothing relaxes quite like beer. First off when we arried in BC we stocked up on as many local brews as we could find - they were all very tasty and kept our relaxation efforts on an even keel the entire time in Cultus Lake!

... a lot to enjoy - all in the photos. During the winter it is a ski field and in the summer a great tourist attraction for the magnificent views over Vancouver City and further to Vancouver Island as well as the mountains to the east.
