... We sat in a stall overlooking the chrome and red vinyl stools. Not only did the room look great, the food was pretty good too.

The next lucky strike was the sun occasionally broke through the fog when we went up into the mountains to view Mt Baker. When we awoke in the morning it was raining and it kept up when we started to drive through Sedro Woolly. This town had all its buildings in the main street burnt down early in the 1900’s ...

... Mountains featuring. People were going crazy taking photos, but I just sat back and reflected. These scenes are beautiful, but having had a week driving around the Rocky Mountain National Park, they were not a patch on the remote and unspoilt scenes that I had enjoyed, photographed and been mesmerised by. ... it!!!!

Once back in the main town (I say town but mean a tiny little truck stop place) we had a look around the chainsaw carvings that seemed to be everywhere. They are impressive that they can get them so detailed considering it is all done with a chainsaw. Apparently the have alot of competitions where they only have a weekend to create something out of a massive log. Wish there had been one going on as I think that would have been fun to see but as it was we had to settle ...

The Art of Floating

Cultus Lake is an oasis of water surrounded by forrested mountains, like sparkling water in a giant green bowel. An amazing provincial park in Chilliwack BC. We had fabulous sunshiney summer weather (a nice break from up North where crisp fall weather has arrived).

We took full advantage of having the natural paradise in our backyard by partaking in the popular activity "floating" - you gotta try it! It's so relaxing, ...
