This was almost a 500 mile "Day Trip" but it was a beautiful drive, especially since they had a good snow fall last night!! Plus we needed a distraction today after the kids left!!
Around 4pm i decided the storm was almost over and took a walk downtown. Vendors from the annual Craft Sale were loading up their vehicles after being washed out today. Downtown was like most small towns but had some variety and not just Pawn and Liquor shops. Took a few pics nothing exciting but good to get out.

Well the first thing I learned was that the 'detailed' map i have of the Great River Road is not very detailed. It only shows major roads but not the roads that connect them together. ... from a farmer's yard, we stopped. We found some fresh steelhead at Costco, (of course, it was enough for several meals.) and bought it for dinner. John cooked it on our little grill and the whole meal was delicious. After dinner, we walked down to Edna Lake at the Nisswa Resort to watch the sunset. It is still warm in the evenings in the Midwest, which makes them quite pleasant.

Last night we stayed at the Porcupine Wilderness State Park in Ontonagon, MI. Had a site right on Lake Superior. Arrived just before it stormed. Lots of people camping in tents and there we were sitting in our motor home nice and dry watching a movie and eating popcorn! Too bad for the rain, we were hoping to see the Northern Lights.
