... no cross country road trip would be complete without seeing the "Gateway to the West"! On our way, we saw signs for the worlds largest golf tee and also the worlds largest wind chime...although we were tempted to stop and see these most intriguing attractions, we had a long drive ahead of us, so we stayed on the highway. Another interesting thing that happened is that we crossed over our first time zone...not sure exactly where, but it was somewhere in SE Illinois....wish ...

We slept in a little bit today, as the previous day's driving had done its best to wear us out completely. However, once up, at around 9 am, we rifled through cheap breakfast foods and set to the task of viewing Citygarden and the Gateway Arch on the waterfront of the Mississippi River. Saturday 9-17-2011 St Louis

I tossed & turned last night. I was awake off and on most of the night – excitement, worry, and sadness over knowing tomorrow we would be leaving my baby – Simon – the world's most spoiled Yorkie – for 19 nights. What will he do without us?? After yet another last minute stop at Wal-Mart (I have a love-hate relationship with Wal-Mart), a trip to the bank and the post office, lots ...

    The Big Bass

A travel blog entry by erik2454 on Sep 04, 2011

Not really much to report, Just a day of driving and a stop in Springfield to look around the Worlds largest Bass Pro Shop, pretty impressive. Got to see my Uncle Tim which was nice, thanks for stopping by Tim. We have decided that to continue the Food Challenges would be too painful so we are just in it for good food and the thrill of the road trip. I cant promise much from this point on since we are ...
