... ask, "Are we there yet?" Enough to drive you nuts, right? Roy finally came up with the idea to split the trip up like a pizza pie. He'd say, "We've still got half a pizza to go or only one slice now!". Somehow that seemed to give her perspective and she wouldn't ask so often. ... dry day. Contrary to what you might think, riding a Harley on a hot day is not the least bit refreshing. It feels like riding in a blast furnace. Can't wait to ride into La Quinta Saturday when it's 110, or whatever! Forty-five minutes later, I roll into Show Low. According to the legend, Show Low was named after a marathon poker game between Coryden Cooley and Marion Clark in 1875. The two men decided there was not enough room for both of them ...

Much cooler today, in the mid 80's and overcast
It only sprinkled when I was filling up the car.
Salt River Canyon is spectacular but requires driver concentration. I am glad it was a short day.
Tomorrow, I am aiming for Cortez, CO. for the weekend
      Today's lunch was forgetable ...
