      Golden is only small and, although it has a lot of attractions around it, none were particularly suited to our short stay. It has lots of mountain biking trails (which we're not equipped for) and hiking routes (which we’ve done a lot of recently), so today was going to be about one thing: white-water rafting on the Kicking Horse River (so-called because the chap who discovered this patch of country got kicked in the chest by his own horse!).       ... chilly so were glad of a brisk pace. We stopped to admire a couple of ground squirrels by a bench. We only saw one to start with but the other popped out of a hole, fascinating! We crossed a bridge across the fast flowing river and headed towards the base of the Falls. It was very impressive, tall, with spray rising up everywhere. So many beautiful sights!

      ... look around the shops to find a restaurant for dinner. We ended up in small pub-like restaurant. As we were eating our food some friendly mosquitos decided they were hungry too...and ate us. Collectively we were bitten 22 times. Great.
