    Set out to get into the US through Port Huron along the way we phoned our youngest grandson Maddoc to wish him a very happy 5th birthday with a bad rendition of the old favourite song.

    Made our way to the border got all the fruit accept an apple and pear confiscated bad people we are, anyway on we went. Drove longer than we wanted but made it to a campground.

    ... We had a 4 hour drive ahead of us. Along the way we saw some giant windmills, cattails lined the roads. We crossed into the US at the Blue Water Bridge - I was terrified driving across it - I hate driving on bridges- white knuckles all the way. It took about a half hour at the customs place because of traffic. But looking over the bridge at Lake Huron was gorgeous.

    We left the monkey and all the joys of Morgan Co. KOA and headed to Frankenmuth, MI early Saturday. It was not a long drive so that was nice. It was 64 degrees and misty rain but it didn't slow us down. We passed a sign for the Gerald Ford Library in Ann Arbor with no time to stop.
