    ... foggy and smoke covered so the view was not fantastic but the number of small boats out fishing was! - It was Sunday after all.
    Unfortunately Mount St Helen was also covered in smoke from fires in the Mt Adam's area to the east. We could marvel at the information given at the centre but not at the view! We withdrew to a camp down the valley - Kid Valley and relaxed under the trees. The next day was clear! Easy decision - back up the valley for photo shots!

    On Tuesday, 9/2 is when we visited Mount Rainier National Park. It was about a 90 minute ride east and so well worth the ride. Mount Rainier was established in 1899 as the nations fifth national park. This mountain wonderland is famous for its dense forests, dazzling wildflower meadows and glaciers.     ... exhausted by the end of the night and hit the bed early.

    This morning, Friday 8/29, we left for Castle Rock which is inland in Washington state. We are here thru Labor Day weekend and will head down to the Oregon coast. While in Castle Rock, we will visit Mount St. Helens, Mt. Rainier, Portland, OR.
