Arrived back in Cusco last night and a rest day today to recover from the hike around Machu Pichu. Visited the Inca Museum and a short trip to some markets.

It's amazing what a good night's sleep will do. We both feel pretty good today and most of Bob's altitude symptoms have gone away. Maybe it's the Coca Tea as suggested by Dick and Arna in their coments to our last post (It's always readily available in the hotel lobby), or the Ibuprofen and good night sleep may account for the improvement.
It was another early day for us. We were up and on the road to the airport at 6:15 this morning to catch our flight to Cusco, Peru. Cusco, located in Southeastern Peru in the Andes Mountain Range, is the former capital of the Inca empire and the jumping off point for travel to Machu Picchu, where we will travel the day after tomorrow.
Yes, I have fallen foul of the curse of Cusco and spent the past three nights in a row out partying with the numerous travellers from all over the world that make Loki their home when visiting this town. Cusco is the hub from which many travellers book and begin their tour up to the wonderful Machu Pichu. It stands at 3700 meters above sea level...Cusco, Peru kelly_blogs
