      Lotus Pond

Got to the hostel and the nice owner took me across the alley to the market for a buffet. Then I rode the MRT to Lotus Pond, ate some Beef Noodle soup, the went to the harbour area where there was Bikertopia going on... a motorcycle conference with a giant stage of music and spotlighting after dark, but no band.... just local bike club guys driving the bikes on stage with little scantily clad taiwanese girls waving their flags from the back seat.

My saviors were Cherry and Edison, who helped me through a lot and just by getting involved, ...

... is one of the biggest commercial harbours in Taiwan, but it is still nice to see the deep blue ocean of the south of Taiwan.

Like I said, I was only in Kaohsiung for one day and the only real activity I did was going to the Old British Consulate. The building is really cool as it is one of the oldest western structures in Taiwan and looks typically British with its red brick walls. The view from the consulate is very beautiful as it is perched on top of a huge hill and ...

Confucius Temple and the great Costco experience

... The different buildings all had different uses as well. For example, one tall tower building in the grounds was dedicated to the Gods of Education and Good Fortune, and was regularly visited by students who were doing their exams. The actual Confucius temple itself you had to pay a small amount to view, then you stepped into a walled courtyard area, with the temple smack in the middle, and various buildings all around. Walking around the outside buildings, they were filled ...
