The Eaton is so local to everywhere - we walked most places on Kowloon Island.

Awoke to grey wet skies and it stayed that way for the entire day. After having a slow morning, a very slow morning, we decided that enough was enough and we braved the conditions to wander up Nathan Rd to a restaurant in Yau Ma Tei and devour a curry beef and rice and a Singapore noodles. Incidentally, we were like drowned rats by the time we got …

Day 2 and it was part freelance and guided tour. I started my day with Sky100 at the International Commerce Center, the 7th tallest building in the world. In less than 36 hours I was feeling comfortable enough to move about the mass transit rail (MTR) with ease. Getting to Sky100 from my hotel via MTR and a short walk was about 35 minutes. Once at …

Two words - Private Guide. I couldn't have experienced so much in day 1 without Mandy from Hong Kong Getaway Private Tours. Full review for her company on TripAdvisor, but in short this was possibly the best tour experience ever. I'll let her summary below capture how much ground we covered.

Despite feeling tired as the past 4 weeks catch up with us we got up early to push on with our sightseeing of Hong Kong.  We left the hotel and took the MTR to Hong Kong Island.  We wanted to see the Central area and we started with a stop at Statue Square.  Despite reading that this is one of the highlights in Hong Kong, we weren't …

We arrived in Hong Kong around 7.30 and were transferred to our Hotel - The Eaton Hotel. After dinner in their restaurant -NZ Salmon and Lamb Chops (not very daring of us), we ventured out for a walk and cultural shock. We wondered around the streets, found some local markets and were careful not to get lost in the dark. The walk was welcomed after …
