... without getting onto land but on the other its great to be able to just sit and read a book, a pleasure that I don't seem to find time to do at home so not complaining really. ... lights were on in the city and it was just brilliant to be cycling through there. My head was on a swivel trying to take it all in, while reminding myself to pay attention and not get run over or run down any pedestrians. I'm sure the giant smile on my face was probably also a sight to behold. We arrived back at the bike shop around 9:20ish and took care of our bills (all the food was included, but any drinks along the way you had to cover).

The alarm rang at ten to seven and we are out by seven minutes past. Arriving twenty minutes later we have five minutes to spare. However the bus, a bearable twenty four seater and not a monster, doesn't arrive until ten to eight. By the time we do another couple of pick-ups and and find our proper driver/ guide and the rest of the party it is 8.30 before we hit the road west towards Geelong. Melbourne and Port Philip Bay

Just south of Melbourne is anland area called the "Mornington Peninsula", a very attractive region. Melbournians are lucky that they have their beaches right at their doorstep. Not much of a surf though, but nevertheless nice clean beaches and although it is a Bay, the water is very clear and blue.
