... our travels with you through this blog and hope it goes successfully. One of our audiences will be Sophie and Isabelle's classes...."hello fellow classmates/teachers". We hope to bring to this blog our personal experiences and reactions as well as some history and educational value. The girls would also like to challenge the classes with periodic questions about our destination to see if the classes can come up with the answers.
... in the city. From small mom and pop boutiques to outstanding malls, Portland has the upper hand on upscale shopping. You will definitely see your share of dazzling jewelry and fine art, and there is no better place to see it than in the fabulous museums and art galleries. The Portland Museum of Art and the Bayview Gallery are two of the premier establishments in town, and the equally delightful Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Company and Museum is always a treat. You can ...
Portland, Maine, United States katstravel... that this area was for the affluent as the homes were big and beautiful. The homes along the coast were WOW! We passed the Bush 'Compound' built on 7 acres of Walker's Pount. We could see a large house, a guard house and several large, black vehicles -probably Secret Service. There were several buildings/houses, a swimming pool, tennis court and helicopter landing pad.
We then headed south to Kittery where all the factory outlets ...

Portland, Maine, United States gocarygo... to share was more than enough to stuff us silly. We sat and ate them in big wooden chairs next to the camp fire that was burning away in an attempt to stave off the chill of the autumn morning.
As the site is really nice and well cared for, even at this late stage of the season, we had decided to stay for another night and so waddled across to reception to book in. Then we waddled to the phone to call ...
... good deal and a nice pitch close to the showers and the laundry, and where there was also a good wi-fi signal. Unlike the other KOA's that we have stayed at, this one was very sort-of rustic feeling, with earth pitches as opposed to concrete ones, and in a woodland setting which was all the more attractive as a result of the fallen leaves.
Before getting settled in, we drove to the Walmart supercentre at Biddeford for groceries. Back at the campsite it was time ...
... down high tension power lines and a lot of the State was plunged into no power for up to a month in some places. The ice storm lasted two weeks with the effects created to the point only emergency vehicles were allowed on the road. I guess the house bound Maine inhabitants had to amuse themselves in other ways. Hence "double the usual number of students this year." We also watched another volunteer demonstrate the launching of a model boat, this demonstrated the way they ...

Plus I understand the language...well at least until I get to the southern states...where I've been warned that their english isn't quite what I'm used to. Also you might want to make a donation to his trip (see his website). I could have done the same for my trip (see the Home page on this website), but there are needier people out there than me. I always have the option of selling a kid or two. I'd ...
