Loved the quiet location away from the strip and yet minutes drive to all the locations. I'm not a gambler so have nothing to say about the casino but enjoyed the rest of the stay and restaurant. Best part was getting room at ridiculously cheap rate of $25 and no resort fees..

Our room is on the 20th floor and has good views across the city towards the east.

Not wishing to succumb to the jet lag our tour guide (me) forced us out of the room before we could collapse on the bed.

... Don't get me wrong, we didn't disgrace ourselves but beers and cider in a sports bar was about as rock and roll as we got. It's lucky Thomas was too young to come to Vegas otherwise he'd have been on his own past about midnight. I'm not sure why but we didn't bet again in a casino until the last night. Dave ended over $100 up and I think Neil was close to breaking even. I didn't bet at all but I think that was more down to having to baby sit the two casino virgins. In fact, ...

After this trip I'm feeling even more compelled to traveling with a sidecar and taking a week or two trip with a dog (maybe Marty Pup before he's too old to travel - I really think he would love to travel!).

... fees, we decided to all go to Treasure Island to purchase tickets.

En route to the box office, Team A decided to indulge in one of those giant, 48 oz, bong-shaped slushy alcoholic drinks before the show. Quite possibly the best decision we made that day. Team B purchased our show and buffet tickets, but we still had a couple of hours to kill before showtime so we all kind of just wandered ...

... however, we'd just been in Zion, which is a stunning canyon with soaring red rock walls that loom over you from every direction. So I think we were a little underwhelmed. We were also only seeing a small fraction of it. But it was huge and the Colorado River at the bottom is also huge by comparison. I think I'd still like to see the "proper" Grand Canyon one day... But landing in a ...
