      Perfect stay

Loved the quiet location away from the strip and yet minutes drive to all the locations. I'm not a gambler so have nothing to say about the casino but enjoyed the rest of the stay and restaurant. Best part was getting room at ridiculously cheap rate of $25 and no resort fees..

... for a drink. Walking around all day had done us in… our backs and legs were buggered! We are officially getting old!

The next morning my throat felt like sand paper and my hands were so dry and my skin was cracking. The air in these hotels was doing me in. It felt like I was inhaling air fresher all the time. Lucky we are only there for a few days.

Today we wanted to check out the northern end of the strip starting with the Venetian and The Grand Canal ...

We then took the lake overlook road, to see the end of the Colorado river which spurned off & bent round from Lake Mead, which was a beautiful expanse lake with little islands dotted within it. On coming out of the area, we passed a patch of properties with the most glorious view of the lake. Then off again passing by St Jude's & Bolder City into Las Vegas. The time zone changed yet again in Nevada and we must have made up ...

... get to our campground. We ploughed into a bottle of red wine at about 5pm – very early I know, but we had a plan. The lunar eclipse was happening at 2am in the morning. Now, there was no way either us was going to get up at 2am after our normal bed time of 11 or 12. So, we vigorously split a bottle of red and that put us to sleep at about 9pm. Perfect, so we had about five hours to sleep and then we would get up to take photos. And get ...

... beers and popcorn. The place was decked out in blue neon’s, the atmosphere electric. Families with children and couples like us filled the seats and prepared for the impending fun. If you like comedy, percussion and audio visuals this show is fantastic. Three guys dressed in black; with blue painted faces silently move through unusual drumming and comedy skits. First off they start the show by throwing out marshmallows into the crowd ...
