As we got up this morning the ship was arriving in Laem Chabang which is the nearest port to Bangkok in Thailand. The nearest city to Laem Chabang is Pattaya and Bangkok itself is about a 2 hour drive away by coach.

Yesterday we had heard that guests had been advised not to visit Bangkok unless part of an organised tour because the foreign office had advised there was an imminent risk of extremist activity. We were later advised by our guide ...

... traveler here you know? Everybody else is Russian! The beach gradually filled up as it got hotter. Time for sun lotion! One of the disadvantages of traveling alone is that its really hard to get lotion every where! ... it cool here but we all know I have got Bieber fever!!) Wednesday and Thursday was singing songs and dancing/games with students. The first group were aged about 12-15 and we had planned to sing nursery rhymes as didn't realise they were quite a bit older. We will have to do some re-thinking as 'row row row your boat' didn't go down too well! Thursday's group were younger and they loved it. I always seem to take on the role of the ...

... did the natural thing; hit walking street and check out the nightlife. Pattaya is known as the sex capital of Asia and I can see why. Its a pretty full on place with girlie bar, after girlie bar and not a lot else. Everywhere you look there are groups of men, or single men looking for "love" for the night, unsurprisingly, none of whom are young or attractive! This is why they were here I guess, unable to find any action in their home countries, they flock to Pattaya ...
