Breakfast was mostly ready a bit before 6AM so we sneak in and start and then watch as the staff arrive and turn on lights , toasters etc. Was quite a good breakfast - lot's of "normal" things like eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, croissants, pastries, toasts, a few cereals, and a small selection of fresh fruit. ... Thailand (from Cambodia, where I had been living and volunteering with AIDS orphans). I had tried to get a 60 day visa for Thailand in Phnom Penh, but, not realizing it takes four days to do that in Cambodia, and flying out the next day, I was told, by a Thai official, that I could simply get a 30 day visa at the Bangkok airport, and then get a 30 day extension after that. ... easy because we have been to Bangkok before so we know how it works, but it wasn't easy as all. The first set of taxis told us they would take us for 200 Bht but taking taxis with two of is in each because of our luggage, we explained to them we have always got one taxi with our luggage and we know it doesn't cost 200 Bht so we knocked them off the list. As soon as we were walking away they dropped the price to a 100 Bht in one taxi. We still didn't ...
