    ... there was every book ever published on sale. Walked down to the river where we split up, Rick and Vreni taking short cut to MIT and we following the river around. The MIT Museum was very entertaining with one floor showing robots, holograms and some lovely motion inventions. Walked over the river to the Prudential shopping complex - it is huge and filled with all the flash shops - Gucci, etc - out of our league or interest! Wearily made it ...

    We have now arrived in Hyannis Port after leaving NY this morning. We were pleased to leave NY though enjoyed our time immensely. It is an exhausting city.     ... motel which was (especially after some of the others I'd passed!) not too bad! The motel owner was a man from New York and he was very friendly and couldn't believed I'd walked from the bus stop! That may have had something to do with my beetle or title-like appearance with the huge hiking bag on my back that is half as big as me!     ... back on the Freedom trail. We walked on the trail through Charlestown up to the Bunker Hill Monument where even though it was sweltering at 90 F we all walked up the small spiral staircase to the top of the monument all 294 steps. Felt so amazing to reach the top and to be able to stand for a moment and get some cool air coming through one of the small windows.

    ... and gold teams. Once again there was more crying. Its hard to explain the whole colour war thing - cause its very american and you have to be there to get the atmosphere and how everything works. Its taken me all summer to get the basics of it :p So basically for the next 3-4 days there will be no classes and just competitions between the teams...
