... the coordinator if we were and he said no, we were going to Ao Wang Duan, which is halfway down the island! He was incredibly kind and walked me over to another boat, which turned out to be more like a cargo boat. I spent my journey surrounded by boxes of beer and eggs, and bags of watermelons, pineapples, and meat, but the water got bluer and bluer, and sky became clearer and clearer until 45 minutes later when we reached the island paradise that is Ko Samet. ...

We were only in Chon Buri for a day and I didn't get the chance to see much of the attractions it has to offer, like the national conservation park, but my stay was still really fun.

Chon Buri is off the travel map, a tiny town known by Thai for its fruit and gem market. I had my first go at Lychees (Chanang! -delicious in Khmer) and saw a wide variety of gems which Kur and I know refer to as "poop of the earth" from our guide in Koh Kong. We stayed at River ...

... an hour to refill. I think the petrol station ran out or something so we were just sitting ducks for a while. Anyway nothing else really happened with the journey because once again we were all so tired from the night before.

We finally got onto the island around four and checked into our hostel. It was probably the worst hostel we have stayed in but it still wasn't that bad. The good thing about the hostel was that it had wifi so we ...

... to sell along the beach. We also fell in love with som tam, or papaya salad and barbeque chicken, which was also freshly made by another Thai local that walked the beach. The chicken and salad make a perfect lunch. On our last day Jenny got a massage on the beach and I read in the shade overlooking the ocean. A wonderful time was had together on Koh Samet. We were really sad to leave that beautiful little island, but we both vowed to return, sans scorpion of course!
