Today was all about not doing too much - just relaxing into beach mode and being laid back and unhurried. We slept in till 8.30 and walked the 5 minutes to the village where we had croissants and iced coffee before renting a newish scooter for the day. ... high and dry when the tide was up. This meant that conventional chairs weren't an option at most spots and you had to sit on lounge cushions or even bean bags while dining. Everything was candlelit and lanterns hung in all the trees; it looked like it was decorated for a gorgeous wedding every night at sundown. Then around 8 o' clock the entertainment would start. Fire dancers would perform up and down the beach, and they were the most exciting that we have ever ...

... a thin piece of wood going upwards from the pier to the top deck and literally push it up. I cringe but they manage it no problem and they move on to loading beer and supplies. One small skinny lad is throwing big crates of beer to his friend on the boat, who then throws it to his friend which they do with amazing speed and without busting a bead of moisture. Me and Phidel sit there sweating intensely, waiting for the boat to leave.

      We soon cheer up ...
