... how we expect, but if nothing serious happens there isnīt any reason to be worried or upset. Thatīs what we have learnt during our trip.

Finally we arrived at the airport of Shanghai at about 22.30 and we were instantly captured by people from different agencies offering overpriced taxi services (RMB 500!). All of them also kept saying that there was no metro, no train and no bus at that time, however, we didn't believe them and went to check on our own. They were right ...

Then off for a walk to get my metro card topped up, a SIM for my phone and some ...

... Pearl Building, and a walk on the glass floor way above the city.
The bus ride was entertainment in itself as we passed through the narrow street around our hotel and saw people living in their shops with the pavement their own communal courtyard.
First stop was the beautiful Yu Gardens. It is an incredibly tranquil and beautiful spot in the centre off Shanghai's busiest area. It occupies about 5 acres but again, the clever use ...

    Its good... for China

A travel blog entry by flojo1 on Jun 15, 2011

... we would like to meet for a drink. So we rang him and arranged to meet later for dinner. The weather had gone from bad to worse - it felt like typical english weather. But being tourists, we decided to arm ourselves with umbrellas and visited the very beautiful Yu Yuan Gardens. The outside of the gardens is surrounded by typically old fashioned chinese buildings, equipped with Starbucks and Haagen Darz!! Within the actual garden is a serene mix of rockeries, small lakes and old ...
