Family Folklore: Both Will and Mei could imagine our hotel room as their future apartment. Mom didn't see the tickets for the architecture tour in her bag. Dad had to run to get replacement tickets but we lost our place in line. Turns out the tickets were in a zipper part of Mom's bag. ...
Imagine building a building with one hundred floors. When did it become so normal to see massive buildings and not wonder how they're constructed? Sitting in Sarah's 52nd floor apartment, everything looks small, but then we get the lift up to the 94th floor of the John Hancock building for views over the city, and Sarah's apartment building suddenly looks tiny from our new perspective. Took the train and bus home. Not too much trudging through the snow, and not as cold tonight, only -14, although expecting more snow tonight. Not looking forward to the early start tomorrow to put the boys on the Greyhound bus to Louisville. I could stay in my warm bed while they go out in the snow....
