... about as we enjoyed a late dinner. We had a terrific day but really just scratched the surface of this great city.
Family Folklore: After the boat tour we were starving. We came upon a California Pizza Kitchen and had a lovely dinner. There was a terrific breakfast at our hotel. When the waitress heard we were on a road trip she loaded us up with muffins, fruit and yogurt parfaits.

And although in shuffle mode, when a spontaneous, cheesy and subliminal songs like Rupaul's "The beginning" (don't judge!) comes on, it put the kick back in my step, feeding me courage while I walk around feeling all my senses come alive. It's like the diva herself is auto tuning the words "This is the beginning of the rest of your life" to me, and only me.

... a night of drinking by a bonfire and a day of boat rides and gin, I didn't really want to leave and was just getting into the beach set up they had here. Unfortunately, I couldn't miss my train to Washington, D.C. and gerri kindly took me to the station. I think the gin definitely helped me to prepare for the 16 hour train ride ahead. I definitely feel it is time to move on with my travels and see the next place but I am sad to leave the much needed home comforts paired ...
Chicago: great for the lover of steak, sports and beer according to Sarah. So first things first, to tick one of the list, we grab a drink and meet some of Sarah's very lovely work colleagues and get some great tips on the 'must do' things for our trip to the US. Soon enough, feeling the minor effects of a bit of beer and wine, and the more major effects of jet lag, Sarah hails a cab and takes us home.
