We flew from Shanghai to Wuhan and then the train to Yichang. Great to arrive as I've written about this place so much re the Japanese in The War of Resistance but never been before. We joined the cruise ship to what is known in the trade as a "scratch orchestra" playing "Oh When The Saints". This morning the boat docked and we got off after breakfast to visit Shibaozhai Pagoda. It consists of a huge piece of rock, a wooden red pagoda and a temple at the top. The temple was built in the Ming Dynasty and originally you could only get to the temple by climbing up using an iron chain. In 1662, the pagoda was built so the temple was easier to reach. We went on a smaller ferry & Sand-pan boats to check out the smaller gorges.
These boats were operated be the local farmers.
During this trip we saw the suspended coffins & monkeys playing on the gorge walls. Good trip.... Back to the boat for the ...

The hotel was great & breakfast was okay.
We have some free time this morning so Rell & I went shopping for supplies to take onto the ship & some repair items we needed. If you walk around you can find everything you need.
Our guide picked us up at 1:30pm & we went looking for another external HD for Rells photos.
Rell had a chance to negotiate with a Chines sales lady. Bought for $60.
