I had to think fast on my feet and discovered that if you just scream AHHHH, people will move. My host sister told me that she thought I was crazy, and I just took it as that she was starting to like me. It was so scary but it was definitely a lot of fun. I felt great about doing this fun thing with my family and my angst seemed to be disappearing. When we returned ...

... city life. We ended our day off with bubble tea at a café and I felt so happy to be able to have this escape. It was really nice being able to have intelligent conversation with somebody and not have to struggle to get my point across. As I waited for the bus to take me back home, a Chinese girl started a conversation with me. "Excuse me, are you American?" Why yes I am, and how are you? She told me that her friend wants to come to China to teach English and that she’s ...
