    ... checked out a few shops too. It looks like it's quite an arty alternative town as well as having the old traditionals here too. Locals are friendly and have heaps of dogs. They take it all for granted as one does when one grows up in a place.

    But check out the photos. I have rarely repeated shots of an arch so these will be almost all different ones, of various shapes and sizes. As well as a few other things I saw on my excursion.

    ... Out of 46 days we only had about 5 days when it rained. Mostly it was sunny and hot. Shorts weather. The rain forests up the west coast of the South Island is renowned for being wet? The clue is in the name!! But we had nothing but sun all the way except for Franz Josef when we were covered in fog or drizzle!
