Today sees us leaving Witton Gilbert with Passports! Vicky took us to Durham Station and then we caught the train and bus to Manchester Airport! The whole journey went very smoothly, with the exception of lugging large cases up and down stairs at York but hey ho! Very early in Airport - 1hr before gate opened. Looking forward to being frisked by Si but he's in Teneriffe! Both well and now waiting for Gate to open and signing off for next ...

Picked up the kids from school and told them they were off for their first set of Jabs. Nothing like a complete melt down in the playground. Emotions running high we met with the nurse, after mum and dad getting theirs it didn't make a scrap of difference it was a battle of wills.......we got there in the end. On leaving I advised the kids that they would be coming back for several more, im hoping that it will be easier 2nd, 3rd, 4th time round.

... a window seat but upgraded" she said. Well bloody hell, that was twice in one week we'd been upgraded, but this was a bit more worthwhile. Twelve hours on a plane with your legs stretched out instead of up your own **** sounded good to me. We survived another long flight helped by our upgrade "Another drink Sir." - Go on then. And landed at Heathrow 12 hours later. We'd booked a night at the Heathrow Thistle Hotel. Why the Thistle, you may ...

... were cooking and how complex their choices sometimes were. Plenty of ready meals and pasta but creations made from fresh vegetables, herbs and spices were often made. Always plenty of conversations in kitchens? We generally bought Steinlager beers at about £1 a bottle and supping wine ( mostly white) about £6 a bottle. These were always available cold from all the supermarkets. We bought meat, fish and vegetables fresh from Countdown, Pak n Save and ...
