... br> There have been the odd rash moves - like heading to the bakery for fresh bread and settling in for iced coffees and baklava - oozing honey and dripping with nuts.

Another chore was to get our meds (at our stage in life, you know...) Dave cycled to a small town about 10 Km away, armed with the EU health cards and the prescriptions from Poland. Two complications. First they didn't have one of ...

We are staying in the very pretty Greek village of Neos Marmaras. I have to admit that before we planned this trip I didn't even know this area existed. Not sure what it would be like at the height of summer but in the first week of June the place has clearly not really opened up and it's really nice and quiet. Temperature is a tough ...

    Olives n' Oleander (5500 KM)

The drive was only about 450 KM but it took forever on small roads with pot holes in Bulgaria. Crossing from Bulgaria to Greece the customs were yet again confused but 'Ferri Bot Istanbul' explained everything. The Greek customs guy approached the car looking at the Arabic number plates and said very slowly "Do you speak English?". Should I have confessed, after all these years elsewhere, "yes, only English really, but the first 50 words of badly ...
