Eagle Point resort is an excellent destination for families and couples alike. The full-service resort staff is very friendly and always nearby to assist with any needs. The resort is about as far off the beaten path that you can get without leaving the island which makes it a very quiet and peaceful getaway location.

... 75 km in circumference! They say it remains one of the world's deadliest volcanoes. Most of the main volcanic island that you'll see in the pictures, and the one I climbed up, emerged from the lake as a result of a savage eruption in 1911 that killed hundreds, and there have been frequent eruptions since then that have sculpted and re-sculpted the island. I took a boat (called a bangka) across the lake to the middle volcano and climbed it to look at the ...

... a picture of the sweet Taal volcano. We simply cannot get over it. We paid two hundred (a bit expensive) and the driver was insistent so we gave him what he asked. We rode the bus going back to Manila.

As I sat back in my seat, I had a big smile on my face. I cannot believe I conquered Taal volcano in the most extreme heat I had never felt and without any doubt, it was an unforgettable trip. It was draining but it was fulfilling! See you soon Taal. I shall return!

... just ahead of the typhoon rains. I thought my flight would be delayed because the typhoon was passing throught the Philippines on its way to China but we took off no problem and I arrived in Guangzhou just in time to take the metro back. I had an awesome week touring a few countries and cities in Asia, and I ended the trip well with a relaxing stay at a beachfront resort. It is going to be very difficult to get up and go back to work ...
