    Europa Park

A travel blog entry by jtate on Dec 26, 2014

Today we went to Europa Park. The park is separated into all the different areas of Europe. From Russia to Spain to Iceland. It is themed like that country and has rides, shows and entertainment. Not opened at 11 so we got there early so we could go straight in and go on some rides without the queues. There still were queues though. We started with a bobsled roller coaster that Ash cracked me up! Her words- I don't like this, I don't like this, AHHHH! And at the end she wouldn't admit it ...

Great Christmas. Started last night with a service at the Truchtersheim church. Catholic service in French. Couldn't understand a thing but the priest was very tallented. He did some great hands free singing. He needs a new cracker, he broke his one, at least he shared it! So by the end of the night, between the 2 of us, the bill was about 380euro, which was a nice birthday present for Colleen and a nice way to finish off our stay in Strasbourg and France. After we returned to our room, we had to pack our bags, as we have a early start in the morning, with a 8.51am train to Zurich in Switzerland. ...

... automatic ordering machines. Touch screen computers that take your order so you don't have to queue. The best thing ever. Anyway we continued onto the markets after waiting ages for Linda and Ashleigh to finish shopping... The city is coated in lights. Every street and building has Christmas lights and decorations! The markets were excellent. We browsed the various stalls of Christmas decorations, ornaments, nicknacks, crepes, pizza baguettes, toffee ...

Seafood (we meant Christmas) in France.

Other than the charm of the christmas markets and cathedrals, Strasbourg was a great escape from Freiburg (satisfied all our seafood cravings)! Will we come back again? Most probably, but we'd make a beeline for the supermarket just to lug home a luggage full of fresh seafood which Freiburg clearly lacks. ...
