Today was a very exciting prospect – our other German friends were to arrive in Eibau for a grand reunion; Mario & Katrin had very kindly invited them to over so we could all be together again just as we were in Botswana. Uwe, Ulrike & Christoph arrived during the morning and it was wonderful to see them again.

We were all spending the day together, and decided to go south to Zittau ...

OK, Wroclaw certainly isn't Dodge, but it is a city and a beautiful one at that. We have been traveling for about a week; all in cities (all lovely, charismatic cities, but still cities) and we were ready for the country with the open spaces and quieter pace of life. We just are not city people.

We left Krakow by bus to the city of Wroclaw in the south western corner or Poland. It was a smooth ...

Day 210-211: a great weekend at the snow!

The latter was complimented by Hubert skidding infront of us and covering us both with snow. We were all laughing hysterically by this ...

... hill at the bottom of the slope. I was a bit rusty too so it gave us a good opportunity to get familiar with the snow and the skis and everything. Hubert and marc gave us a few pointers and we were away! I was so surprised at how quickly Paul picked it up. he's a natural! He told me that it was because of all the water skiing he has done. Hopefully that means I won't suck at water skiing if I give it a go? Somehow I think not! It was so lovely to see Charly ...

Friday was the first of Czech trek which is a DIS adventure tour in the Czech Republic! We left Copenhagen at 5 pm and took an overnight bus to Hruba Skala. We arrived at 7 am to a castle in the middle of a gorgeous hilly fall landscape only to find out this is where we are staying! We had breakfast right when we got there and were outside soon after to start the day.
The first thing we did was archery. We practiced for an hour or two and then had a contest. I ended up doing ...
