Today was a very exciting prospect – our other German friends were to arrive in Eibau for a grand reunion; Mario & Katrin had very kindly invited them to over so we could all be together again just as we were in Botswana. Uwe, Ulrike & Christoph arrived during the morning and it was wonderful to see them again.

We were all spending the day together, and decided to go south to Zittau ...

    Getting out of Dodge
OK, Wroclaw certainly isn't Dodge, but it is a city and a beautiful one at that. We have been traveling for about a week; all in cities (all lovely, charismatic cities, but still cities) and we were ready for the country with the open spaces and quieter pace of life. Day 210-211: a great weekend at the snow!

... Lunch was good in the cafeteria. Charly and I had gnocchi with a creamy spinach sauce and the boys had a sausage each with chips, mustard and tomato sauce. The boys then had a shot of vodka each and we went back up the slopes. First stop, more jumps! Paul had the biggest stack. He flew cover the jump and landed crooked and then skidded on his back another 20 metres or so down the slope. I was watching him from a bit below. It was so hilarious. We went down and up and ...

Day 209: an adventure to Czech

A travel blog entry by adventurenonni on Feb 14, 2014

... Paul and I some skis, so all we needed were the boots. It was about 10 euros for both pairs of shoes for two days hire. Pretty cheap. We then hit the snow! It was such lucky timing, as we were driving to Czech this morning it began snowing. Well and truly before we reached the mountains there was snow everywhere, which meant that the mountains had quite a bit on them. It was awesome! It was Paul's first time on skis so we had a few little practice runs on ...

Friday was the first of Czech trek which is a DIS adventure tour in the Czech Republic! We left Copenhagen at 5 pm and took an overnight bus to Hruba Skala. We arrived at 7 am to a castle in the middle of a gorgeous hilly fall landscape only to find out this is where we are staying! We had breakfast right when we got there and were outside soon after to start the day.
The first thing we did was archery. We practiced for an hour or two and then had a contest. I ended up doing ...
