... are so many more tourists, and I was here in late September before. I thought there would be less in this shoulder season, but there's no such thing as shoulder season here now. There were more practical shops in the Old town before, like hardware stores, etc, but now EVERY space on ground level is a tourist store or some sort of shop catering to tourists. (Sex museum anyone?)
It's not too bad if you don't hang out in the Old town all ...
... we wanted to explore further, and where we wouldn't bother returning.
The tour ended at the castle, so we spent a bit of time walking around the grounds as the sky grew darker and darker before it started absolutely bucketing down. We had our rain jackets, but this was the kind of rain that came at you from all directions, so we found a building to shelter under (unfortunately there were no pubs nearby!), where we stayed for almost half an hour waiting for it to settle ...
Entirely consistent with a Nation that drinks more beer per capita than any other country on earth the Czech's have a history with the traditional 'pub' that must rival even Britain, that country that surely has more hostelries per square mile than anywhere else and a tradition of drinking the brown ale that goes back to Roman times.
I could, but have not, research the history of beer brewing and drinking in the Bohemian lands but it definitely does go back some ...

Frozen was magical, funny and beautiful! Everyone should see it because it is fun, festive and has a great score. Joanna said I reminded her of the reindeer character in it…perhaps I’m growing antlers because of the cold?

On Saturday afternoon we met up with our tour group. There are 27 of us and everyone is an Aussie or a kiwi, making Michelle and I the token Canadians! Oh and there is also a couple from England. There were a total of nine of us staying in an 8 bed room, poor Hayley had to sleep on a small foam mattress on the floor. The people on our tour are great, everyone is super nice and friendly.
