... too appealing. The only problem I had with the hostel was its directions on how to get there as there were no directions at all! Luckily, I found some directions a helpful reviewer left on hostelworld which really helped me out, but were not perfect. The best advice I can give is get off the bus at Caotun First Bank and walk North up the main street. You'll pass a McDonald's, keep walking up the road until you come to a big four way ...

... we decided to wait and get that. I am sooo glad we did. It was really delicious. It was a little bento box with chicken (Rick had pork), rice and steamed veggies, and it was very tasty.

At the main station in Taipei we switched to the metro (we had bought a metro pass- you pay for the card and then put money on it, and when you leave you turn the card back in and get the money back and whatever is left on the card) ...

... hostel room was very spacious, but the bathroom was small (very common in Asia). The only downfall was towels were provided so we rented some for a rather steep price. We had purchased some beers, so after showering we went back downstairs to the living room/kitchen area and talked with the owners for a while. They were really nice and liked to travel also so we spoke about that most of the time. We couldn’t stay up too late since we had to be on the railway train at 9am.

... 8216;Walemi Ice Cream (no other address given), which so happens to be the home owners son’s local home made ice cream business (he only sells to local people, so how he manages to stay afloat is beyond us at the moment). We tried his ice cream which actually was very nice, not sweet and made with local ingredients.
