... the euro. I can't blame them really. From what i could gather, Poland was becoming more and more expensive, yet wages hadn't kept pace. It was a similar story in most of eastern Europe. The barbecue Anita's uncle put on that afternoon was by far the best meal I have had in years. It was just barbied bits of flesh, but the meat was so tender and delicious. Something hard to find back in London.
Three days went quickly, and before we knew it ...
Jelenia Góra ('deer mountain') is about couple of hours south from Wroclaw (trains or buses). It is close to the Karkonosze mountain range running along the Polish-Czech border. Only 10-15 km of the town there are few ski resorts such as Karpacz, Szklarska Poreba.
Nice, colorful Market Square, Cyprian Kamil Norwid Theatre, Saint Cross Church, the Old Town are just few places worth of seeing.

... the week was fairly chilled out we could have headed straight to Warsaw over the next few days to visit my family in Poland but they suggested to come the week after when there was a birthday party on, so it would be easier to catch up with everyone in one go. This meant we had quite a bit of time to spend in the region and our plan was just to take our time in Czech and maybe go to south Poland before we headed north to Warsaw.
We spent the rest of the ...
al the former eastern bloc countries make for good travel,, but the one that i return to is the czech republic,, mainly to the north [north bohemia],liberec, harrochov, cesky raj, but a trip or two to moravia is also worth taking,,. during the communist times it was an eye opener, now also as the people wish for the return of those times, they knew where their bread was coming from, and the upgrades fron old skoda to super fast motorcars,, ah they stilll are crazy on the roads

There was a dry spell in South America when I think I read the Nanny Diaries over three times. Since we have been in Europe, I have read 3 books: The Man Who Was Thursday by G.K. Chesterton A turn-of-the-century mystery by the master of theology, absurdity, and insight. Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert The journey of a woman developing an ...

We had enough of each other from time to time, but I reckon it`s pretty normal when you`re spending with someone 24 hours a day. None of us has an easy going personality. Marcin is this kind of a person that takes one step forward, e.g. he`d tell me sth personal, then he takes two steps back - for instance he`d be teasing me all day long. Considering ...
Szklarska Poreba, Western Poland, Poland bogna... sloping plateau of the Karkonosz range. It was still quite cool, so after taking some photos of the view and the nearby small wooden chapel we made our way back down. Although we had dinner in the centre of Karpacz, we decided to return the next morning for a leisurely stroll. It was a beautiful sunny day, and given we'd done what I wanted to do the previous day, the next few hours activities were Ania's. After having some lunch and ice-cream we got back in the car and drove a few ...
Karpacz, Western Poland, Poland will... no one home I presume. Tomorrow we are going to visit the town as its apparently a great example of Czech centres so we will see. 10/10/07 Day 72 Rob - washing day today, but the German woman wont relinquish control of the dryer so Jenn is fuming, staring out of the window and scowling). (JENN- in my defence we are totally out of clothes, Rob has no knickers (day 2 for today's garments) and is down to his last shirt so its make or break time. Rob is ...

We bought a camping book of Europe and discovered this off beat campground. As we embark our drive over the mountain pass the rain launches itself in hard, massive drops! I begin thinking that rain is not the best alternative at this moment. Tom is already hesitant about camping and the rain ...
