They do like food on a stick.

We are probably going to stay here until Monday as nothing runs very well here at the weekend, there isn't too much to do here, we have already visited a WWII museum .....lets just say it was worth the 40p it cost us to ...
Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Malaysia carsonsontour2... towards reception I see Jack and flash him a big smile to reassure him that there are no hard feelings after last nights antics. I am met with a frosty half smile, if you could even call it that. I continue to check out and dump my bags and head straight for the beach where Jack is talking to Carolyn. I plonk my **** down and realise I am actually baking and I have only bee sat still for little over 5 minutes!! Wow it's hot...too hot infact!! Can't ...

Perhentian, Kelantan, Malaysia gledipinnarThis morning some American girls checked out of their room. They were obviously ****** off about their accommodation. Their room was very close to the porch and they had probably been kept up by the loud partying from last night. Edgardo and I jumped on the opportunity and rented their room right away. Let me tell you, I've stayed at some ****** places before but this might be the worst. The ...
Perhentian Island, Kelantan, Malaysia dfleege... hole and your balance are pretty annoying. Second........ the hole was completely clogged with dead cockroaches (maybe they weren't all dead?). Second...... the trough that you get water from to wash what you put in the squatter down... was empty and the tap didn't work. Third, there was no bin to put the used TP. So......without much choice tp went in the hole over the cockroaches and I ran fast back across the highway without looking back and then got back on the bus... walk of shame ...
Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Malaysia heatherlindsay... t open and the fans didn't work. We had to peel ourselves of the filthy train seats and go stand between where the two trains connected in order to get some fresh air. We were forced to alternate between standing and not dying from the heat with sitting in relevant comfort while trying to not die from heat exhaustion. Our plans were to stay in the **** border town for a couple of days so we could secure a 60 day Thailand visa rather than a 30 day one. Unfortunately ...
Perhentians, Malaysia mericanomad... which meant that we had quite a bit of time to kill before our next journey.. Just as well, it was time for breakfast and explore Kuala Besut a little.. Not surprisingly, with Pulau Perhentian's longstanding fame as a beach/island paradise, the jetty has pretty modern infrastructure.. looks like a marina leh! Further down from the main terminal building, there are a few eateries with the ...
Kuala Besut, Malaysia gin_gy... their snorkel gear and leapt into the water in an effort to follow it. Luckily we got in pretty close contact with Mr Turtle and swam alongside him until he got bored of entertaining us and dove deeper and rocketed off. As we reached the surface we realised the boat was almost out of sight and had to wait for the driver to come save us. After that there were three more stops at different points around the 2 islands. At the lighthouse and ...
Kota Bharu, Malaysia sar-and-sag... the train is moving and not parked at the station. Around 9am the train attendant closed up the beds and we grabbed a window seat to watch the country pass by. Along the way we saw a bunch of farm fields and small towns but the best was when Kay saw a man riding an elephant down the road as if it were a horse. I unfortunately missed it but take her word for it. The train pulled into the small border town on the Thailand side (Sungai Golok) around 11:30 am and we ...
Kota Bharu, Malaysia slipperycoconut... with some people we met at the hostel. We rode over in a share taxi with Bill, living on the Big Island and Martin, a german guy from Alsasloraine (sp?) area where Bri's fmaily is partially from. We took a crowded expensive and somewhat hair raising boat ride over to Perhectian Kecil and decided to stay at D'Lagoon, the most isolated place on the island. The people were nice ...
