    The Perhentians to Kota Bharu

... I got to see loads of fish, stingrays, turtles and found a huge area of anemone which was covered in clown fish (nemos!). We left the Perhentians at 8 AM on a speedboat which seemed fun at first - but after 20 minutes on rough sea with 2 x 150 bhp outboard motors going at full speed on a little boat, I started to feel a bit worse for wear. But I managed to keep my breakfast in! We caught an hour long taxi from Kuala Besut (the port) to ...

    Perhentian Islands

A travel blog entry by landellsandlads on Jun 21, 2014

Next day we left the city and caught a flight to the north of Malaysia to visit the Perhentian islands. We got a 40min speed boat to the smaller of the two islands which is more backpacker friendly. The heat is unbelievable. Laura and I have never sweated from so many areas of our bodies in our lives! We stayed in little wooden beach huts which were simple but all you needed really. There are no cars or roads on ...

Take boat from Kuala Besut jetty. Travel time to the Island is approximately 40 minutes.

For the return journey, the speed boats are scheduled to leave the Island thrice daily at 8:00 am, 12:00 noon and 4:00 pm. However, departure and leaving times for group ...

I got it. I used my credit card and bought the 288 Ringgit jacket. I went to look at it again this morning and now it's mine! Walking through the town and a park I get to love this city. The diversity. Hindus, muslims, christians, Chinese, Indians, Arabs and whatever else, old, new, shabby and stylish. Everyone and everything got its place. And one respects the other. I feel in Abu Dhabi, in India in the US and in Europe at the ...
